Pilates for Runners
This is a mixed ability Pilates class with the runner in mind although non-runners and those from other sporting disciplines are very welcome and will still benefit enormously from the class.
We do all the classic exercises, particularly focussing on those that strengthen the ‘running’ muscles, build core strength for increased stability and encourage good upper body posture for more efficient breathing.
We also spend a bit more time on developmental stretching, particularly in the legs, hips and other areas that take the strain, whether you are a sprinter or long distance runner.
Clare is a Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor and enthusiastic runner. She is especially passionate about introducing Pilates to runners to help them improve strength and flexibility whilst reducing injuries.
